3 months old!!!

It's hard to believe that Sam is already 3 months old!!

Grallie and Papa Lewis are in Reno this weekend, but they gave us the greatest present last weekend when they babysat Sam for us and gave us a chance to go see a movie and go out to dinner!! It had been a LONG time since we'd been on a date night, and we only talked about Sam for maybe half the time!! We saw a great movie, The Illusionist, and ate a great dinner at the bar at Arties. It was a really nice time and it was fun to be out just the two of us.

Yesterday, Gram Braidwood was here to visit and got to spend a lot of time with the little man. She was in town to pickup Gross Papa Braidwood from his trip to Egypt. We all went to the Lebanese Taverna for dinner (with the McCormicks!!) and had a lovely time looking at the fancy shops in Tysons II.

Today we went to Annapolis and walked around Old Town. We had planned to go the Navy-UMass game, but with the new parking structure there, we had a tough time finding regular parking even two hours before the game. It turned out that the only parking left was in downtown Annapolis and that required getting on a shuttle back to the stadium. With Sam, we thought that might be a little too much, so we decided to spend the day walking around the cobblestone streets. Robb, though he went to soccer camps at the Academy for a lot of summers as a kid, had never been to the town or seen the State Capital. Even though we had planned for the game, it was still a great way to spend the day!!

Some recent changes in Sam:
We're getting a lot of smiles and giggles now and it's pretty cool to see him recognize our faces. We're still not sleeping all the way through the night, but we only have the 3am feeding left to go. It's so nice to not have the midnight feeding anymore and good to know that we're on our way to a full night's sleep. Lately, the biggest thing has been the mobile over his crib and other hanging things. Sam likes to look at the mobile going around and even though he's not reaching out yet, we know it's only a matter of time before we have to keep his little hands off everything!! The Bumpo is getting a lot of use...not only by Sam...


Today, he's been eating like a mad man and might be going through a little growth spurt. He's just gone to bed after a little giggle fest on his pillow. This feels like a night that we might actually make it up for SNL!!
